Big brains= High intelligence !?!

err, brain size = intelligence according to science program aired on channel 4 (uk) at prime time saturday night! Strap me in…

Did anyone see that programme on Channel 4 today (UK television) about this theory that the bigger the brain the higher the intelligence- amongst humans! I think it was called ‘What Makes Us Human’. What annoys me most is that this program makes out its all scientific yet never proves the theory, just saying ’studies show they is a correlation to size of brain and intelligence’. All implications, how vague! There are plenty of studies that disprove this. There is also a common viewpoint that questions the validity of IQ tests, a psychologist even admitting in the program that IQ test only INDICATE intelligence, so how much does a indication prove-pretty much nothing thats what! Also there are certain ways to increase IQ, and guess what? The persons brain did not get bigger.

So what does this program on channel 4 accomplish scientifically? Nothing, thats what. It just provides a theory on humanity and intelligence, linking it to the brain- a fairly weak link at that. Yet it presents it in an objective way and so the viewer will definitely get the impression that it is scientific proof! In my view there is definitely a vested interest behind this programme because it wasn’t objective, despite it being presented as so! Channel four show a trend of presenting these kinds of ’scientific’ programs on the brain, always pushing the notion that the brain is the source of human behaviour and human thought.

Yet when they present the other side of the coin, that of the spirit/religion, it always does so to disprove it, in a disparaging way or all out attacks it, remember Religion- The Root of all Evil?
There is definitely a conspiracy going on here, is channel four anti-religion and anti-spiritual? What are their motives? What do they want their viewers to believe? Questions that provide brain-food no doubt.

I didnt write an introduction to myself first as I had more pressing blog writing concerns (see my Brain= Intelligence post.) Anyway, what is my purpose for writing on wordpress. Well I believe I have many insights on the world that are worth writing and more importantly, worth being read. Although I will let you decide on that one.

A little bit about me:

• Im a video maker and digital/video artist (more later)
• I read far more than is probably healthy
• I have an IQ of (as if I going say!)
• I have a physique that is intimidating to the same sex (joke)
• Im male by the way
• I have a degree in digital art
• I have an optimistic outlook, but get annoyed by certain ploys and scams etc played by people who have a position of power on those who dont. This happens all over the world and is without doubt the biggest problem we all face.
• I have a very specific world view (more later)
• Im very opinionated

My purpose is to attain the reputation of having the most alternative views and insights in the blogging world (None of this will be superficial and i might add I that I never play devils advocate.)

Thoughts and articles will be plentiful (and perhaps reviews- Ive heard there is a lucrative money making system in the review blogging world but as long as its ethically done I suppose thats ok). Plenty of biweekly posts is the plan, so come by for entertainment, insight and even revelations!!!
